Does an iPod Touch need a different charging cable than the other iPods?

I just bought an iPod Touch and it didn't come with a charging cable and since I thought all iPods had the same charging cable I tried to charge it with my iPod Nano 3rd generation charging cable. It didn't work and the screen said that the charging cable was not compatible with the device. I sent a message to the sellers (on Amazon) asking if there was a problem and they told me that there was a special cable for the new iPod Touch. The only problem is, I can't seem to find a charging cable just for the iPod Touch. Please help!
