Best and safest way to purchase things online?

I want to use my chase debit card (has VISA logo on it) to purchase things online from amazon and use it for netflix but I'm not sure if this is the safest way, plus I only plan on putting the right amount in the bank, example something i want to purchase online is $100 so I would make sure theres just only $150 in the account and i would do that for monthly payments as well like netflix, but I don't know for sure if its safe or if theres a prepaid card I can get thats safer.
